Union Gospel Mission is blessed to have many individual volunteers as well as groups devoting their time to serving the Lord with their talents at Union Gospel Mission. Please take some time to review some of our current opportunities.
Volunteer News - August 2010
Kitchen Help
Description: Assist with the daily preparations of meals for Residents and the Street Ministry
Location: 320 Princess St
Opportunities: Mondays – 8:30am to 12:30pm
Tuesdays – 8:30am to 12:30pm
Mondays to Sunday – 2:00pm to 5:00pm
Winnipeg Harvest
Description: Assist with the weekly distribution of Winnipeg Harvest.
Location: 320 Princess St.
Opportunities: Fridays – 8:00am to 12:00pm
Drop-in Ministry
Description: Assist Chaplains with the Street Ministry, handing out clothing and food, socializing, building relationships, praying, and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ
Location: 320 Princess St.
Opportunities: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays – 12:30pm to 4:30pm
Clothing Room
Description: Work in the Clothing room sorting and organizing clothes to be handed out to Men, Women and Children.
Location: 320 Princess St.
Opportunities: Monday to Saturday, Mornings, Afternoon, or Evenings
Explore! Workers
Description: “ The Explore! Club welcomes up to 30 children in K-5th grade one night a week. We are looking for volunteers to help lead/ assist crafts, games, singing, and/or snacks. We also need volunteers who can encourage high-energy kids to participate in activities, as well as give one-on-one attention to some children.
Location: 240 Pritchard St.
Opportunities: Wednesday 5:00pm to 9:00pm
Noon Chapel Speakers
Description: Noon chapel is a 15 minute service beginning at 11:30 A.M. The Format may vary but can include singing, Bible reading, testimony, a message.
Location: 320 Princess St.
Oportunities: 4th Tuesday, 2nd Wednesday, 1st Thursday, 3rd Thursday and the 4th Friday of Each Month. Without committing to a definite time, you may choose to have your name on an on-call list. We could call you if a scheduled speaker is unable to attend.

Evening Chapel Service
Description: Evening chapel is a 30 minute service beginning at 7:30 P.M each evening. The Format may vary but can include singing, Bible reading, testimony, a message.
Location: 320 Princess St.
Oportunities: We would also like to have groups available for our evening service at 7:30 P.M. each evening. These groups could be contacted if a scheduled group is unable to attend.

Charis Centre Receptionist
Description: Answering the phone and door at the Charis Centre.
Location: Charis Centre
Opportunites: Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm), The shift can be broken up between morningings and afternoons
