Charis Centre Kitchen Project

We praise Jesus for bringing over 20 addicted women to the new Charis Centre. The first floor will soon be full, and we urgently need to complete the kitchen renovations.
A UGM supporter has offered to match every donation given over the next month towards this $60,000 project, so every gift is doubled!
Please pray that many supporters will bless our women at the Charis Centre and help 'Finish the Kitchen'. Thank you!

Charis Centre Officially Open for Business

In response to the great need, Union Gospel Mission has leased a building "Charis Centre" on Archibald Street to begin an addiction recovery centre for addicted women and their children. The "Charis Centre" has the potential to house sixty women plus children.
Renovations have been on-going since last summer, with many businesses donating time and equipment. Dozens of volunteers have donated thousands of hours of their time. Twenty-seven rooms are now ready to receive women, but much work remains to be done.
UGM has already begun receiving women, even in the midst of renovations, and nine women are currently in the HEART program. The HEART program is Biblically based and designed for women and children (up to twelve years old), over a one year term. For more information visit our Women's Addictions Page on our web site.
