Praise & Prayer

  • It is tough on the streets.  A new drug “Down” is wreaking havoc.  Crystal meth continues to breed psychotic episodes.  It is spiritual warfare and we ask for your fervent prayer support please.

  • He is a new creation in Christ and desires to reconnect with His children, but he needs prayer as the state challenges his paternity with DNA requirements.  This man has love in his heart, Jesus at his center.  Please pray for his wisdom, courage and strength.  The Lord will know who you are considering in prayer.  Thank you.

  • Praise the Lord for selfless volunteers who bless UGM with loving and kind service.  So encouraging!

  • Pray for homeless ladies, Megan, Danielle and Melissa.  They are so precious in Gods sight and we so desire to see them understand just how much the Lord loves them and how, in Him, they can be free to serve Him.  The beauty in these women is just waiting to come out for all the world to see!

  • We praise God that Richard Wright, former man in our recovery program, starts his journey of Biblical College life this month at Briercrest in Caronport, Saskatchewan.

THEM - Thanksgiving Every Month

THEM is a very practical way that your Church can help our Mission once a year.  You’ll find it to be a very encouraging time for your Church, as you rally together, and collectively, gather practical things for Union Gospel Mission.  Here’s how this works –

1)    You choose one month every year – for example, February.

2)    As February gets close, you begin promoting the THEM program, letting the Church know what it is all about, and what kinds of things you will be collecting.  We’ll provide the promotional material.  (Or, you can call us, and we’ll come out and promote it for you in a service).

3)    Then, on each Sunday of February, people from the Church bring the types of things we’re in need of – toiletries, non-perishable food items, etc.  We’ll provide a list ahead of time so that your Church is ‘well-educated’ about what to bring.

4)    Finally, at the end of the month, you bring the piles and piles of stuff to the Mission.  Or, as many Churches have discovered, you may need to do this a couple of times – it seems like people love to give to a cause like this!

Our Public Relations department is more than happy to come out to your Church beforehand to help promote THEM, or ‘afterhand’(?) to express our thanks.

All the collected goods are used for things, such as –

a)    Supplying for the needs of our residents

b)    Distributing to the needy and the homeless

And that’s it.  Ideally, we’d like to have a minimum of 3 Churches collecting for THEM every month.  Give us a call – (204) 943-9904, ext. 226 – or email – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  – if you’d like to be one of those Churches.
